WELL DONE TO YOU ALL

LOCK IN

LOCK IN

cadets and staff
On April 5th 2013 the Port Talbot Sea Cadets visited Port Talbot custody for a “lock inn”.
The cadets managed to raise a substantial amount of money for themselves after being
sponsored by family and friends for the experience. The cadets arrived in fancy dress and
were shown around custody and all the procedures that take place there.
The cadets had they photographs and fingerprints taken just like prisoners do and were
then locked in the cells. “The cadets were given a real life experience of what would
happen if they were to get in trouble with the police in the future. The cadets all agreed
that the cells was not a nice place to be and did not want to return to custody as a detainee.
The main aim of the visit was to teach children about how custody and procedures work but at
the same time kept the kids involved and they had a bit of fun with they’re fancy dress
costumes. Its also great to see that they managed to raise such a substantial sum of money
for The new ship appeal and the unit to spend on equipment and  improving they’re current
cadet building as well as being educated and building a good relationship with the police”.
