Formal Britsh Legion Dinner

T. S. Scimitar Cadet of the Year 2014

The Anchor Trophy

At this year’s Pershore District Royal British Legion annual Dinner, held on Saturday 21st February at the Barkley Arms, awards were presented by Colonel Stamford Cartwright OBE TD to the Cadets of the Year from Pershore’s Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force, Air Training Corps & St John’s Ambulance Brigade. This year’s award of Pershore Sea Cadet of the Year was awarded to Cadet Charlotte Drinkwater.

During the presentations our Commanding Officer readout Charlotte’s citation & Colonel Stamford Cartwright presented her with the Anchor Trophy, her citation read as follows:

This year’s award was a very close choice between three cadets, all obtaining a very high standing in the Corps core values and representing the Unit at local, District & Area levels.

However this year’s winner has shown that little bit more, although only being a cadet for a short period of time, she has been a great asset to the Unit, staff & her fellow cadets

Among her achievements this year, she gained the highest medal haul at an Area swimming competition held at HMS Raleigh, when she qualified for the first time and having only just learnt to wind surf qualified for the Area Wind surfing regatta finals’ plus she has gained numerous other qualifications on the water.  Charlotte has worked hard throughout the year & gained advancement along the rating scale.

I give me great pleasure in announcing the 2014 winner of The Anchor Trophy goes to:

Cadet Charlotte

Commanding Officer T.S. Scimitar

Lieutenant (SCC) Stephen Thomas RNR
