BE AT THE HEART OF IT - VOLUNTEER WITH NORTH...

North Shields Sea Cadets need the help of people like you - volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves, get involved and potentially make a difference to the lives of so many young people from our region.

We have lots of roles to match your skills from working directly with cadets and giving them a head start in life as you guide them through the training we do. Alternatively from behind the scenes, by using your practical business skills and common sense to help shape North Shields Sea Cadets as part of the Unit Management Team. Training and support will be provided to help you.

As a volunteer member of North Shields Sea Cadets you will gain a sense of personal achievement, invest in your local community, meet new people, make new friends, become part of a team which supports young people, and create the opportunity to bolster your CV.

To find out more, please contact Chair.NorthShieldsSCC@gmail.com, or pop in to the Unit and speak to the Commanding Officer on any parade night.

North Shields Sea Cadets secured first place at the District Paddlesport competition and will go on to represent the District at the Area competition later this month.  This is a fantastic achievement as most cadets qualified in Kayaking earlier this year.

Cadets go on James Cook

Cadets go on James Cook

12 cadets and 2 adults had a fantastic weekend on the James Cook thanks to Ocean Youth Trust North.  There were 8 cadets from North Shields, 2 cadets from Whitley Bay, 1 cadet from Wallsend and 1 cadet from Ashington on board for the weekend.  A fantastic time was had by all, and we look forward to the next opportunity!
