Outstanding success at RNP 2015

Outstanding success at RNP 2015

After a lot of hard work, time and commitment, we held our Annual Inspection where the cadets and staff are inspected by the Area Officer. We are extremely proud to announce that this year, Keighley Unit was awarded a Burgee, which is the highest efficiency award that can be achieved!

This is the first time that a Burgee has been awarded to TS Dolphin in over 10 years and as such it is a huge achievement that we can all be proud of.

We have been lucky enough to be able to purchase a second minibus for the Unit. This means that it is easier for us to transport our growing number of cadets to courses and other events much more easily.

The purchase of the second bus wouldn't have been possible without generous donations from the George Moore Foundation and the Liz & Terry Bramall Trust.

JAWS 2015

JAWS 2015

Over the weekend 1-3 May, our Junior Sea Cadets travelled to Bradford Sea Cadets to take part in JAWS 2015, a Junior Activity Weekend. The cadets had the opportunity to complete a vast amount of their yellow and green modules, as well as some red and blue modules. A very tiring weekend but a great time was had by all!

They were also accompanied by 3 of our senior cadets, who attended the weekend to develop their leadership and teamwork skills under the supervision of the adult instructors.

The picture shows all of the cadets and staff involved, from units across West Yorkshire District.

TS Jack Petchey - 2015

Our cadets enjoyed a week on board TS Jack Petchey, one of the Sea Cadets' offshore power training ships. During their voyage, the cadets had a chance to learn more about the running of the ship as well as practice their ropework, engineering and navigation skills. A great time was had by all!

Fundraising Event

We held a fundraising event in Keighley town centre on Saturday 21st February. Thank you to the Unit Management Team for organising the event and thanks of course to the adults and cadets who gave up their time to help out. We raised a fantastic £222.42!
