TS ROYALIST VISITS JERSEY

TS ROYALIST VISITS JERSEY

5 April 2016 - The Sea Cadets Flagship, TS Royalist, visited Jersey for the first time since her launch in 2015.  On board were 24 cadets from across the British Isles who were on board for a week, learning to work with others & gaining new skills and confidence in a nautical environment.  Jersey Sea Cadets & Royal Marine Cadets were invited on board to tour the new ship and spent an hour being shown around by fellow cadets.  Three of the Jersey cadets will be setting sail on her in July for a weeks trip up the East coast of Scotland.  For more information about Jersey Sea Cadets, you can come and see us at our Unit at Fort Regent or contact us through the "contact us" tab on this web page.

French Camp 2015

French Camp 2015

Cadets from TS Jersey have enjoyed another weeks camp under canvas in Brittany, France.  The biennial camp, usually take place in late July and this year was attended by 22 cadets and 6 staff with a number making their first camp with the cadets.  During the week, cadets had the opportunity to kayak on a small river, go mountain biking, horse riding, go karting and have a go at archery.  They also spent several hours at the "Indian Forest" tree parcours where they enjoyed climbing and sliding in and around the seven course levels available.   There were also visits to an amusement / water park, a local French market and the inevitable trip to the local hypermarket.  During their down time in the evenings, the indoor swimming pool was well used and the outdoor volley ball court saw play go on until the light failed.  A thoroughly enjoyable week and many are already looking forward to the camp in two years time.
