2012 So Far - May 2012

Flitwick & Ampthill Sea Cadets have had an incredibly busy start to the year!

Following on from the success at Area drill lots of activities have been taking place within the unit, including 2nd Class First Aid and Cook Steward courses, Piping awards, and multiple adavancements. Well done everyone on a successful winter season!

Throughout April the unit ran Adveture Training (Campcraft), which involved topics such as tents, map and compass and cooking outdoors. It was a lot of fun, and gave cadets the opportunity to explore the local area.

Now that May has arrived it mean it's Boating Season!! Excluding the first Tuesday of each month, we'll be parading down at Stewartby Lake and training hard for the regatta.

District Unarmed Drill Champions - December 2011

District Unarmed Drill Champions - December 2011

On Sunday 11th December F&A's unarmed squad travelled up to Cambridge for the District drill competition (stopping for breakfast on the way).

On arrival it was straight into 1's and then the dress inspection. The hard work put in by staff and cadets, particularly APO Turner Weir and PO Howe really pair off, and they all looked super-smart! We had a while to wait before it was time for our routine, but it was certainly worth it; everyone did superbly, and all of the staff, parents and POC's watching were incredibly proud.

Prizegiving was a return to form for F&A unit, and we came away with not only the Unarmed team trophy; we also won Best Dressed Squad, with LC Lombardi winnign Best Squad Commander!

Super well-done to: LC Lombardi, LC Nye, AC Howe, OC Lugg, Cdt Dunham, Cdt Davis, Cdt Cross, Cdt Bryant, Cdt Ferrari, Cdt Bryant Cdt Horvat-Kelly, Cdt Evans and Cdt Welham.

GOOD LUCK for Area 27th-29th Jan !!
