Leading Cadet Amy takes part in Small Ships Race

Leading Cadet Amy Thomson went away for 10 days Offshore on board the Sea Cadet Rusler 42 Yacht the T/S City of London. During this time at sea the City of London, along with sister yacht the T/S Sir Stellios took part in the Small ships race 2019. They began in Poole before sailing out to the Isle of Wight and up the Southampton water, where they did most of the sail training in preparation for the race. In the race they won the ‘spirit of the race’ award for making 300 brownies for the crew on the other boats. The race involved approx 23 other boats, even though they did not win the race they sailed well in the conditions and had a fun day.
