Happy Birthday Sea Cadets

Happy Birthday Sea Cadets

SEA CADETS CELEBRATE 156 YEARS!

Sea Cadets from Ellesmere Port will be celebrating the Sea Cadet’s 156th birthday on June 25. To celebrate they will be baking a cake from a recipe specially designed by Fiona Cairns, who created the Royal wedding cake for Kate and William.

The Saturdays, James Cracknell, Gary Neville, Helen Skelton, Barney Harwood and Jessie Ware are just some who have voiced their support for Sea Cadets with birthday messages.

We’ve been inspiring and challenging young people through nautical adventure for 156 years and we are thrilled that so many stars have wished us Happy Birthday. Sea Cadets across the country will be baking a specially designed Gala cake recipe courtesy of Fiona Cairns in celebration and stars will be tweeting congratulations throughout the day.

Helen Skelton “I love a challenge from time to time but you guys face them daily with pride, passion and perseverance.  What a great organisation.  Big birthday wishes to you all!”

Scotland Boating Trip 2012

Scotland Boating Trip 2012

The crew from T.S. Forward returned home on the 14th April after an exceptional boating week in the breath taking landscape of the Great Glen (The Caledonian canal).

The cadets enjoyed a Varity of activities learning to handle a boat under power and under sail, as well as enjoying some down time at the Great Glen WaterPark.

The cadets were also able to experience the many locks and swing bridges along the Caledonian Canal enhancing their boat work knowledge. A trip to Urquhart Castle and the Loch Ness Centre opened the cadet’s eyes to the mystery of Loch Ness and the ancient tale of the Loch Ness Monster which I have to report they unfortunately, did not see.

The crew of T.S. Forward would like to thank all our supporters for making this trip possible.

Ellesmere Port Lion's Club Visit TS Forward

Monday 30th January 2012, members of Ellesmere Port Lion's club attended a parade night at our headquarters. After the grand tour, they saw the different classes taking place, spoke both with staff and cadets and ended the evening with a number of presentations. These presentations were various awards that the cadets have earned over the past few months, and included first aid, sailing, and the Duke of Edinburgh's award. They also made the very kind donation of £1,000 to the unit, to help us fund a much needed replacement minibus. We are very grateful to the Lions club of Ellesmere Port for this.
