Competition Success

Competition Success

The unit entered 2 teams into the North Wales District Seamanship (Ropework) and Engineering Competition held in Holyhead.
In both classes we came first! We now go and represent the District at the Area Competition at Stoke on Trent Unit. Fingers crossed!

Well done to all competitors!

This is a great start to our commitment to entering competitions.

Our unit calendar has now been updated under the news tab. It shows how busy we are locally, nationally and inter-nationally!

What an exciting year we have ahead!

Trafalgar Day Celebrations

Trafalgar Day Celebrations

The unit was involved with two formal dinners and a parade to celebrate and commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar!

On Thursday 16th October we had a unit mess dinner for cadets, where cadets had a 3 course meal, catered and served by our parent's and supporters association. We passed the 'port' (blackcurrant juice), toasted the Queen and had various speeches and toasts. Our guest speaker was Shipmate Keith Bradley, President of the Royal Naval Association Llandudno, who gave the cadets a fun version of the Battle.

On Friday 17th October, we hosted a formal dinner for friends, supporters and guests of the unit to our annual Trafalgar Dinner. We raised a smashing £247 on the raffles! Our guest speaker was Lt Cdr (SCC) Chris Jones RNR, our District Officer, other guests were Cdr Jan Wyglendacz RN, the OC of the RNLI for Wales. Both provided a good overview of the Battle of Trafalgar and also the RNLI.

Sunday 19th October saw us participate in the RNA's Trafalgar Day Parade on Llandudno Promenade. Whilst almost being blown away we managed to keep hold of our caps and participate in the parade and service accordingly.
