January 2016 – District Multi Activity Cadet...

January has already seen the first set of qualifications for the Cadets of T.S Broadsword with Cadet Saunders passing his catering basic course.  He is now more than capable of helping out in the kitchen at home.

Cadet King successfully passed his First Aid 2nd Class. First Aid skills are not just required for promotion but they are also very important life skills that the Cadets are able to take into their adult lives.

Well done to both Cadets, keep up the good work and we look forward to covering more qualifications throughout the year.

January 2016 – District PT Course, RAF Halton

The first District course of 2016 took place over the weekend of 8th to 10th January at RAF Halton, where cadets attended the first of 2 weekends for the Physical Training Basic Course.  The following cadets from Aylesbury unit took part - MC2 Milward-Stone, MC2 Crampton, Cdt 1st Lockley-Brown and Cpl Nicklin (who assisted with instructing). Sgt Nicklin along with other staff from the PT branch led the instruction of the cadets.  Sgt Pearce and PO Nicklin also attended to help with Logistics.

The weekend is a very intensive and demanding for the cadets both physically and mentally, with the course covering Daily Exercises (DE’s), Recreational Training (RT) Games as well as Health and Safety in the Gym. The Cadets also took part in 2.4 km run fitness test, circuit training and display training.  In the coming weeks the Cadets have time to practice what they’ve learnt before the second  weekend of the course where they will be assessed.  This is taking place in February and we wish all those taking part the best of luck.

December 2015 – Bag Packing at Morrisons,...

A small number of enthusiastic Cadets helped shoppers with packing their bags at Morrison's on Saturday 19th December. The Cadets then enjoyed a light lunch courtesy of the store.

Although the money raised was less than in previous years the Cadets conducted themselves in an exemplary manner and a number of compliments were received from shoppers on the day.

Bravo Zulu to the cadets in attendance - Cadet 1st Class Lockley-Brown; Cadet King; Junior Cadet Durden; Junior Cadet Price; New entrant Price; New entrant McNally.  Thank you also to CI Durden, Mrs Pearce and Mr Peacock for supporting.
