On Saturday 31st May 2014, Ardrossan Sea Cadets were in Morrisons in Stevenston doing a bag pack for Unit funds. The Cadets who dedicated their own time on Saturday worked very hard and we are delighted to announce that their hard work certainly paid off, the unit earned an amazing:

This money goes a long way in keeping the unit running and allowing our young people to be able to have as many opportunities as possible to make their Sea Cadet experience the best it can be.

Ardrossan Unit is proud to support two local Queens Baton Bearers. CPO John Macdonald and Able Cadet Robyn Gurney will both carry the Queens Baton when it comes to North Ayrshire on the 15th of July.

The baton will land back in Scotland on the 14th of July after visiting 70 countries, and territories, and traveling more than 190,000 miles. Unlike the Olympic baton where there are many of them made, only one Queen's Baton has been made and has been carried by thousands around the world. 

We have spoken to both John and Robyn to see how they were feeling about being nominated to carry the baton, John said "It's a great honour and I feel very privileged that I have been selected to carry the Queen's Baton" Robyn commented also saying "I am very excited but I don't know if I can run 200m"

Ardrossan Sea Cadets were visited by the Glasgow & Strathclyde University Royal Naval Unit with a presentation from with Ma'am Hill and her colleague. The presentation includeded information oh joining URNU and a picture slideshow of previous events they have taken part in. A final thanks to the Glasgow & Strathclyde University Royal Naval Unit, the Cadets thoroughly enjoyed their evening.
