Cadets Remember Battle of Trafalgar

Cadets from Welwyn Garden City & Hatfield Joined others from around Hertfordshire to commemorate the battle of trafalgar. cadets marched through the county town of Hertford where they were inspected by Commodore Tim Hennessey RN DL (Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire).

ROYAL MARINES HAVE GOOD CATSEA SUCCESS

The Royal Marines Cadets from Welwyn & Hatfield took part in the annual CATSEA inspection  (Company Annual Training & Safety Efficiency Appraisal) where they joined the rest of X-Ray Company. this involved a full days training package, followed by a test of the detachments ability to engage enemy contacts in a simulation.

 

The detachment gained a mark of 70 out of 100 which resulted in a Good over all Score. The detachment worked very hard to achieve this and have made the unit very proud.

The unit had its annual Unit Review Visit (URV), where the cadet put on a full ceremonial Parade for reviewing Officer Lt Cmdr Matthew Waylett (Hertfordshire District Officer). Lt Cmdr Waylett was greeted by a 7 Man Royal Marines Cadet guard and a full turnout of Sea Cadet & Junior Sea Cadet Divisions.

 

The Night was ended by the Cadets receiving their Annual Awards and Presentation of Achieved Qualifications.

  Maesk Majestic 

8 Cadets and staff members spent their Saturday on a Maersk Triple E class Merchant Navy ship. The Maersk Majestic is 400 meters (1,312 ft) long and 59 meters (194 ft) wide and a height of 73 meters.

Sunday 26th April saw Cadets from all over Hertfordshire gather at Welwyn Garden City Sea Cadet Unit for the annual air rifle shooting competition. Welwyn Garden City entered 4 cadets consisting of both Royal Marine Cadets & Sea Cadets. Our 2 Senior Royal Marine Cadets won the Senior Competition with our Junior Team of Sea Cadets came a respectable 3rd Place. 

Cpl Lewis also won the best shooter competition.

A massive well done to all our cadet who made the unit very proud.
