Many thanks to the Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells Rotary Club for their generous donation of £2,000 presented to us recently.

This will go towards the costs of us hosting our first parade to exercise our right to freedom of the borough in October.

Freedom of The Borough of Royal Tunbridge Wells

We are delighted to announce that on On Weds 23 April at a full Tunbridge Wells Borough Council meeting, The Freedom of the Borough was gifted to TS Brilliant Tunbridge Wells Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets.  This honour is in recognition of the 90 years the unit has contributed to the youth of the Town and the thousands of people who have benefited from the Sea Cadets.

The Mayor Nancy Warne announced the award to the council and to senior members of the unit in attendance.

Accepting the award was Commodore Barry Bryant CVO RN the unit President followed by a thank you for this honour by Lt Cdr (SCC) Jon Vanns RNR who has been working on this for many years.

The award will be formally presented at a parade in Tunbridge Wells Town Centre on 12th October 2025, where Tunbridge Wells Cadets will be joined by Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets from across West Kent.

Only a hand full of Cadet Units in the Country have this honour and it is the work and dedication of cadets, staff and trustees both past and present that have earned it. It is the responsibility of futures generations to live up to it.

90 Years Old Today

90 Years Old Today

A meeting of the Navy League at 24 Grove Hill Road, Tunbridge Wells, agreed to the formation of a Sea Cadet Unit in the Town.

Meeting originally at the Agricultural Showground in Showfields, we moved to our current building in 1942 for the princly sum of £1,000.

Still going strong we are building foundations to support another 90 years of serving the surrounding areas and helping our cadets excel at everything that they do

Staff Development

Staff Development

In order for us to deliver the best experiences to our Cadets, it's important that our staff are highly trained.  This takes a lot of time out of their everyday lives.

This week we have our Padre, PCh (SCC) C Mills RNR attending her initial training course at HMS Raleigh and PPO (SCC C Parker attending his RYA Dinghy Instructor Course at Welsh Harp.

Good luck to both of you and enjoy the experienceS
