ALL SHIPSHAPE ON THE HM BARK ENDEAVOUR

On 18th April 2013, Stockton Sea Cadets were welcomed with open arms when they held their biennial Royal Naval Parade on board the HM Bark Endeavour, and were the first official visitors on the tall ship under its new private ownership – all thanks to Lindsay Eccles, the new Chairman of Stockton Sea Cadets.

In addition to the many parents and supporters in attendance, also present were the Mayor of Stockton Kathryn Nelson and the outgoing Mayor Lynne Apedaile.

The event involved an inspection of the Sea Cadets by Captain Peter Adams of the Royal Navy and then an opportunity for the cadets to show off their nautical skills.

Captain Adams said, “It was a pleasure to see the cadets looking so smart in their uniforms in such a prestigious location, supported by so many local people. Above all, the Sea Cadets are about having fun and it is clear to me that Stockton Sea Cadets provide a safe, fun and caring environment where young people can gain confidence and inspiration as well as new skills and make new friends”.
