Sittingbourne Carnival 2016

Once again Sittingbourne sea cadets lead sittingbourne carnival with the band.

 

   

Well done to the band - we won 1st place - best marching band!

We also entered a float - we towed a sailing boat with cadets sitting in it.

   

Thank you to the committee that provided us with a BBQ on our return.

Junior attends the Patrons lunch!

 

On Sunday 12th June a Sitttingbourne junior  joined Her Majesty The Queen at the Patron’s Lunch on The Mall to help celebrate her 90th Birthday.

One of just 13 lucky Sea Cadets from across the country, the junior won her ticket through a competition organised by the Sea Cadets where she had to write 50 words in response to the question ‘What our Patron means to you?

 

June Divisions

The Cos Divisions is a monthly opportunity for cadets to wear their best uniform (1s) and get them inspected by the CO.

At the end of the Evening badges and promotions are awarded for those that have earnt them that month.

June was a particularly busy month for awarding badges and promotions. 

 Nearly every single cadet and junior was awarded a badge some more than one!


Well done to everyone!

Field Gun Training

  

During the weekend of 28th-29th May 16 we had a cadet take part in a field gun training course. The weekend was spent training Crews who will represent the Sea Cadet Field Gun run at Armed Forces Day (25th June, The Great Lines, Gillingham)

  

  

  

 

Paddlesports

  

5 Cadets took part in an intro to Paddle sports course on the 28th and the 29th May 2016.

Cadets learnt the basic skills on the Saturday at Bartons Point in Sheerness before putting there new skills to the practice taking part on a river trip on the River Medway on the Sunday.

we also had 2 cadets on the first part of their discover course.
