Yesterday, cadets from Sheffield, and other units across Yorkshire attended HMS Ceres, the Royal Navy Reserve unit in Leeds for a fun filled day of activities.
They were involved in competitions, first aid, rifle skills and virtual reality boat handling 🚤
Thank you to HMS Ceres for host our cadets and giving them this great experience.

Unit Regatta 2025
What a way to spend a Saturday!
Yesterday, we held our first Unit Regatta, hosting a range of activities including paddle and SUP sprint 🛶, sailing and windsurfing races ⛵️🏄.
In total we had 15 races with the following being the results for each category:

The week review 🚩
Last week we had 9 of our Royal Marines Cadets away on the X-Ray Company Summer Camp at Westdown camp near Salisbury.
They had a brilliant time and to top it off, one of our cadets, LCPL Johnstone, was awarded Best in Troop for the intermediate cadre🏆 The best in troop prizes were awarded to the cadets who truly went above and beyond in their respective cadres. They demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and a commitment to the core values of the Royal Marines.
Yesterday at the boating station, we had a group of cadets practicing for our upcoming unit regatta. ⛵️
Unfortunately, due to a lack of wind they weren't able to practice sailing and windsurfing but they instead played a range games and activities to fill the time and develop other skills.

We've had a busy couple of weeks for TS Sheffield!
On the 10th of July we held our RNP and welcomed the Area Officer on board.
Last Thursday we held our annual Unit Fun Day and welcomed the cadet's families and friends on board for a BBQ, a bit of karaoke and a go on some inflatables.
Following that, we held our annual Unit Summer Camp over the weekend.
It started on Friday with a trip to the Sheffield Aqua Park where the cadets and staff had a blast as always and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
On Saturday and Sunday, we were down at Sea Cadets Thrapston Boat Station where the cadets were taking part in sailing, windsurfing, and paddlesport. They had a great time and gained boating qualifications from this!

District Naval Experience Week
Last week, 5 of our cadets joined cadets from around the district at HMS Raleigh for a Naval Experience week.
They got the opportunity to test themselves and see what Royal Navy recruits experience during phase 1 training.
The week consisted of taking on CHAOS (the damage control simulator), sea survival training, HMS Raleigh's assault course, plus tours and visits to ships, schools, and other areas.
