Yesterday our Unit was open for a varity of activites. The Juniors made use of our outdoor space creating a home for BUGS. The Marines detatchment was being done-up, sea cadets Divisional rooms decorated and much more. All in all a productive day, with special thanks to all the Adult Volunteers who gave their time to help with it all.
Sheffield Junior Sea Cadets & Staff went to Doncaster for a fun weekend. Joining Units from across the District, it was a chance to try rowing, sailing and powerboating. The weather was great and everyone got on (and sometime in!) the water. Thanks to our hosts and South Yorkshire Staff & Senior Cadets for making it happen.
Over 7,000 signed up for the 2016 PlusNet Yorkshire Half Marathon in Sheffield. As they raced, Sheffield Sea Cadets and staff were on hand, awarding the thousands of medals to finishing competitors. (Helping with the huge clean-up afterwards too!)
It was a night to celebrate achievements of this month together, as the District First Aid Competition winners received their certificates (2 teams from Sheffield!) from the Master-At-Arms, and CPO Martin J. accepted the High Sheriff Award on behalf of the Crew, an excellent reflection on you all!
Sheffield Sea Cadets Band Corps were asked to play by the High Sheriff, for the mile long march, parading to Doncaster Cathedral. With members of all Cadet forces, Police, Judges and more represented. Good performance, and the Ship's Company has been awarded the High Sheriff Award!
