We invited our Facebook friend to caption this photo with some funny and amusing comments. This was a beautiful evening to be on the river and we have been very lucky with the weather so far this boating season. Feel free to "like" our page and give this photo a caption too!

Paddlesports at Winchester 10th July 2014

As always a superb evening described by one participant as "the most fun possible". We're very lucky to have our very own Paddlesport expert in the name of Lt (SCC) Dave Mackay RNR.

Why not find out more about the Sea Cadet Paddlesport training!

Romsey Show Challenge (2014)

The cadets, staff and challenge mentor, Liz Neilson from Fluidity Insurance have been working extremely hard to put together a fantastic stand at the Romsey Show in September. The ideas, imagination, passion and team work shown by all the cadets has been amazing; our cadets are amazing!

Last week we had visit from volunteer artist Alan Olden who is going to kindly give his time to help us with our stand, but we really can't tell you more at this stage!

If any local businesses would like to support or sponsor our stand, please do get in touch romseyseacadets@gmail.com

SCTC (Sea Cadet Training Centre) Weymouth

SCTC (Sea Cadet Training Centre) Weymouth

The Sea Cadet Training Centre is a purpose built place where cadets can train in all areas from windsurfing to shooting, marine engineering to rock climbing! As far as SABS at Weymouth goes its a great weekend to go and do some boat training, the food is great, accommodation is great and evening activities are great and the staff are really helpful.

I received my RYA Powerboating level 1 there and I have nearly finished my level 2 so I am looking forward to going back soon.

SABS (Southern Area Boat Station)

SABS (Southern Area Boat Station)

Recently I went on a SABS course on HMS Bristol. It was a brilliant experience and I got my Competent Crew qualifications and made many new friends. One of the things I improved upon whilst I was there was my marching and drill. When you are at SABS you march to breakfast and dinner. Another thing I improved was my rowing. As we didn't go rowing often at cadets as it wasn't the boating season yet, I used to struggle with rowing as I had not learned before. If you are a cadet and struggle with rowing I would fully recommend you going on this course. I went on a week long course and I massively improved all of it and got many things for my Supervised Coxswain signed off as well as my Competent Crew.

If you haven’t got any qualifications in rowing I would go on this course as it is really helpful and the staff are really nice!
