We are RECRUITING NOW for the following sections:

Sea Cadets (aged 12-17)

Royal Marines Cadets (aged 13-17)

We not only offer skills in Seamanship, Fieldcraft, Rowing, Paddleboarding, Sailing Canoeing and Kayaking but life skills including, Computing,  First Aid , BTEC qualifications and Duke of Edinburgh Awards!

VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

Middlesbrough Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets are looking for Adult Volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves, get involved and make a positive difference to the lives of young people in the area.

The unit has lots of roles, uniformed & non-uniformed, to match your skills and offers training to help you gain more! You could help by showing cadets how to sail, powerboat, kayak, & windsurf. Volunteers are also needed to teach first aid, football, mountain-biking, climbing, navigation, bag-piping, drumming and drill plus much more! 

We need your help to keep inspiring young people through nautical adventure and keep giving them the best possible head start in life. 

Volunteers are supported by a network of other volunteers and employees. As a new volunteer you will receive an induction and will be given training and support to make you frrl comfortable in your role. Sea Cadets is always there to provide ongoing help and support!

COMMANDING OFFICER RECOGNITION

Our unit Commanding Officer, Sub-Lieutenant (SCC) Michelle Bell RNR, was recognised at the Norther Area Volunteer Conference held on Sunday March 2nd 2025.

SLt Bell has been nominated by Northern Area for the National 'Roddie Casement Sword Award' which is awarded to the CO/OIC who has, by example and dedications, contributed most to the aimof the Sea Cadet Corps, during the preceding year.

She was originally nominated by Teesside District for the Northern Area Award due to pushing the unit forward over the past year, leading the unit to joint top in Teesside, introducing a new Junior Jacks section, and being instrumental in setting up a new unit in Darlington, of which Middlesbrough are parent unit of.

LORD LIEUTENANT CERTIFICATE

LORD LIEUTENANT CERTIFICATE

Congratulations to PO (SCC) Craig Bell on receiving the Lord Lieutenant's Certificate of Meritorious Service on Tuesday 4th March 2025!

His certificate was presented by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mrs Johanna Ropner, at a prestigious event held at the Stan Hollis VC Armoury, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough.

The certificate is an award for volunteers who have given at least seven years service to the cadet forces. BZ PO Bell!

The Ship's company took part in Middlesbrough's Remebrance Sunday Parade on 10th November 2024, led by the Unit's Commanding Officer, Sub-Lieutenant (SCC) Bell RNR.
