Cadets & staff who took part in the Halling Coronation Parade received a commemorative bookmark, those who attended the Greenwich Coronation Parade received a commemorative coin to mark the occasion.

Although both events had a smattering of liquid sunshine they were both days to remember for years to come.

Guinness World Record

New Guinness World Record

Cadets, staff & members of the public took part in a, successful, Guinness World Record attempt (Monday 8th May) at Greenwich.

378 people were verified as having taken part in instruction & piping of the Special Call (aka Call the Hands); Medway Towns cadets were a part of this event.

This activity was organised by the Sea Cadet Corps as part of the Big Help Out which had the support of King Charles III.

The unit held its first annual awards presentation evening, since the lifting of lockdown restrictions, on Monday 17th April; it was well attended by Cadets’ relations & guests.

Some recipients received more than one award which shows their dedication & commitment to the organisation.

Greenwich Coronation Parade

Greenwich Coronation Parade

Monday 8th May - over 650 Sea, Army, Air, Police & St. John's Ambulance Cadets along with Scouts took part in the London Area Sea Cadet Coronation parade at Greenwich Old Royal Naval College & marched past Vice Admiral Sir Adrian Johns KCB CBE KStJ DL on the Lower Grand Square.

Medway Towns sent a small contingent to represent the unit, accompanied by the CO.

Halling Coronation Parade

Halling Coronation Parade

Halling village (near Rochester) held a Coronation Day parade which took place through the High Street.

The unit paraded a contingent of Cadets & were at the vanguard of the parade; the CO received positive comments about the Cadets from villagers & visitors.

Although, the weather was damp the event was enjoyable & the atmosphere in the Community Centre was great.
