ILM Award and Success

ILM Award and Success

Congratulations to the three hugely talented finalists in yesterday’s prestigious Cadet Vocational College Westminster Awards ceremony at the House of Lords. Petty Officer Cadets David (Southampton Unit), Eva-Stefania (City of Liverpool) and Philippa (Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge) all enjoyed a fantastic day as guests of Cadet Vocational College Chair Lord Lingfield, having excelled against tough competition from across the UK’s cadet forces to reach the final 15.

All three had impressed during the Award’s summer expedition to Cornwall, where they volunteered for charities including the Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Surfers Against Sewage. So it was great to see them all receive their ILM Level 3 certificates in Leadership and Management

In front of guests including the Sea Cadets CEO Martin Coles CBE, and the Education Secretary Gillian Keegan MP, along with the National Staff Officer Vocational Qualifications and some very proud parents and COs.

Most impressively of all, City of Liverpool's Eva-Stefania was presented with the ILM Achievement Award – a truly exceptional achievement!

BZ to all the finalists for being such great ambassadors for Sea Cadets and showing an inspirational commitment to vocational learning! ๐Ÿ†

1 Ton Challenge

1 Ton Challenge

On 26th July, we had the pleasure of being invited by HMS Eaglet to help them complete 'The 1 Ton Challenge!'

Bright and early our cadets arrived to set off on a 5K walk down the costal paths, to clear up all the rubbish that had been left behind in an effort to keep our environmental waterways clean and help save our planet ๐ŸŒฟ ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘

Wowsers! Our cadets were ice skating so fast the camera couldn’t catch most of them โ„๏ธ This is becoming our favourite way to celebrate the end of the year, a trip down to Liverpool Waterfronts Ice Rink as a Christmas treat for our cadets.
Here’s a few photos from tonight. Can you spot any adults trying their skills on the ice? Actually, I think they all had their hands firmly gripped to the sides and avoided the cameras!

Remembrance Service in Liverpool

Remembrance Service in Liverpool

Well done to the cadets and CFAVs who turned out today to support the Remembrance Service in Liverpool which concluded a series of busy weekends for TS Mersey supporting the @royalbritishlegion Poppy Appeal.
Earlier today we joined hundreds of military personnel and veterans outside St George’s Hall paying tribute to the fallen heroes of Armistice Day, where thousands of poppies dropped from the roof St George’s Hall. Thank you to our friends from Liverpool West Derby Sea Cadets for joining us as well.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
