On Sunday 9th November 2014 Lisburn Sea Cadets joined Lisburn Royal British Legion for their annual Remembrance Sunday parade and service. This is always a fantastic honour for the unit to take part in and a lot of effort goes into it by the cadets whether it is through their uniform or their drill.
We started off the day by falling in with the rest of the parade at Lisburn Royal British Legion, taking our place behind HMS Hibernia and at the front of the cadet forces as we are the ‘Senior Service’. The parade moved off at 1145 and made its way to the cenotaph where an act of remembrance was undertaken and the wreaths were laid. We then made our way to Lisburn Cathedral to take part in the service.
After the service the parade fell in again and paraded the city of Lisburn before returning to Lisburn Royal British Legion for some stew and refreshments.
All of the cadets done very well and should be extremely proud of themselves!
We will remember them.
