Juniors retain Iron Duke cup at quiz competition.

BZ to our junior section who managed to retain the Iron Duke cup at this years Liverpool district Juniors quiz competition.

The juniors had a lot of fun competing against Junior sections from Sefton and Liverpool City.

Juniors sea cadet fundraisers

Huyton Junior cadets have been fundraising.... JCFC Rowlands and JC Godbold raised the most collecting £150 between them. They were awarded trophies for their efforts.

The unit has achieved over 100 qualifications during the summer camp period, with cadets attending both TS Derby and also HMS Bristol for Area camp. The cadets have sucessfully earned a variety of recognised qualifications including RYA Power levels 1 and 2 and RYA sailing stage 1 through to assistant sailing instructor standard. Well done to all!

Now with summer camps over the unit is preparing for the autumn/winter training programme.

National rowing Medallists

Following the recent area success the units rowing squad including Open Boys, Open girls, Junior boys and Junior girls,  travelled to London Excel centre at the weekend to compete against Rowing teams from Around the sea cadets including Northern Ireland and Scotland at Londons Victoria docks.  The competition was of a high standard and the teams succeeded in; Open girls overall 4th place, And the three other teams gaining bronze medals.

5 Members of Huyton unit took part in north west areas Open Gold Expedition and after 4 gruelling days successfully completed their walking expedition around the lake district. The team have now completed all the requirements to achieve the Gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh award and they now await their invites to the awards ceremonies later in the year!
