Our Open Evening is the perfect opportunity for young people and their parents or carers to visit our unit, meet our cadets and volunteers, and discover everything Sea Cadets has to offer.

Everyone is welcome — no experience needed!

Sea Cadets gives young people the opportunity to learn real skills, make new friends, build confidence and take part in exciting activities and experiences.

From sailing, paddle sports and boating to adventure training, qualifications, leadership and much more, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and try something new.

UMT Trustee Nominations

Individuals wishing to stand for election to the Unit Management Team must have their nomination proposed and seconded and submitted using the official nomination form.

Nomination forms will be available from Monday 31st August 2026 and can be obtained from:

Completed nomination forms must be received by Damian Stansfield at least 24 hours before the AGM.

Eligibility criteria for joining the UMT can be found within the Unit’s charity constitution (SCSC). Please contact Damian Stansfield for further information.

Newly elected UMT Trustees will be required to complete the appropriate Sea Cadets application and Trustee Declaration, disclosure application, required online training within two months and an induction within six months of joining.

Any Other Business

Items for Any Other Business (AOB) will only be considered where they have been proposed and seconded in writing and received by Damian Stansfield at least 24 hours before the meeting.

We welcome parents, supporters and members of the local community who are interested in the work and future of Huddersfield Sea Cadets to attend.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Huddersfield Sea Cadet unit (TS Highburton) will be held at the TA Centre, St Pauls St, Huddersfield, HD1 3AR at 7 p.m. on Thursday the 7th of July 2022 to conduct the following business. The meeting will also be held virtually on Zoom and details will be issued to interested parties prior to the meeting, to express an interest in joining by Zoom please contact damianstansfield@btinternet.com

*Notes:

• Election of the Unit Management Team (UMT) trustees – Individuals who are seeking election to the UMT must have their nomination proposed and seconded.

All newly elected UMT trustees will be required to complete a disclosure application, complete a P1 form – application to join Sea Cadets which includes a Trustee Declaration indicating that they know of no reason why they cannot become a charity trustee, complete three online e-learning courses within two months and an Induction Day within 6 months of joining.
