At Glastonbury and Street we aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, we learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.

You learn life skills. I was 12, very quiet and shy. Cadets makes you find the confidence. You feel part of something special. Serafina, 15
We offer a range of different activities from sailing, windsurfing and powerboating - to rock climbing, camping, and music - plus, so much more! At Glastonbury and Street you are also able to gain different qualifications that you can take with you once you leave Sea Cadets!

"It makes me feel I can do things others can't. I don't want to stay in my house every day. I want to see how the world is."
Shaun, 13
It is our priority to make sure that Sea Cadets is a safe environment young people can go to, to be themselves. Click here to find out more about how we safeguard our young people.
At Glastonbury & Street Sea Cadets, we may be a small unit, but we are a mighty one! Our unit has been praised time and time again for its welcoming atmosphere, dedicated volunteers, and our amazing cadets, who impress us with their enthusiasm, determination and kindness every week.
Our weekly parade nights are operated from T.S Excalibur, our unit situated in the heart of Glastonbury. From there we teach our cadets in everything from first aid, meterology, drill, seamanship, and so much more. In the Summer, we begin our boating season at Cheddar Reservoir, spending time sailing, kayaking, rowing, paddleboarding and sometimes even windsurfing! But Sea Cadets is so much more than your local unit, it can mean trips away sailing on Weymouth Harbour, marine engineering, learning teamwork & leadership skills at HMS Raleigh, or even spending a week away on one of our incredible training ships such as T.S Royalist (a square-rigged sailing ship) or T.S John Jerwood (one of our powered training vessels).
Our goal is to prepare our cadets for their lives ahead of them, make them feel seen & supported, and to give them amazing experiences they will never forget. No matter who they are, where they've come from, or who they want to be.
Are you interested in joining us? Either as a cadet or as a volunteer? You can click onto the "Get in touch" tab and either contact us directly for more information, or send us a message, we would love to hear from you!
