Paying Our Respects

Paying Our Respects

Once again Filey Sea Cadets paid their respects to the fallen by standing vigil at the Filey Town memorial agrdens.

Since the unit's inception, cadets have stood vigil the Saturday before remberabce Sunday between 10:00 to 16:00.

The cadets were split into 2 divisions which took it in turn to do a 20 minute stint at a time.  It was an extremely cold day and thanks to our friends at T.S. Iron Duke for the loan of the great coats and to Nick Burgess at the Coffee Shed for providing the extra warmth through those cold 6 hours.

Although it was a cold day, we managed to fill an entire Royal British Legion poppy collection tin by almost selling out and fill a little bit of a tin borrowed from Hunters Estate Agents.

Thank you goes to the visitors and the people of Filey for their kind words of encouragement and support.

Smashing it in the Galley!

Smashing it in the Galley!

A recent galley inspection was carried out at the unit and we have got another 5 out of 5 rating for food safety! This great news for the hard work we put in not only  PO Price and Mrs Frampton feeding the many hungry cadets but also to the P & S committee that put on events.  It also shows the cadets who PO Price teaches catering to, why we do it and how it is done.

WELL DONE TEAM !!!
