Dinghy Instructor qualification

Dinghy Instructor qualification

I am very pleased to announce that Petty Officer Cadet Kayte passed her dinghy instructor qualification today. This is very welcome news as recent changes to the way the SCC carries out it's boating now requires an instructor to be present when boating.
She will be able to take 6 boats out and when working with an RYA centre will be able to present qualifications.
A really big well done!
Kayte spent the whole week in Liverpool working with the Crosby Boat Station team to get this prestigious award.
Brilliant and well done.

Trafalgar Night Dinner at RAF Chicksands

Great night tonight at RAF Chicksands where Dunstable Sea Cadets danced the hornpipe for the Officers mess before their Trafalgar Night dinner and also manned the Sunset ceremony for the Warrant Officer and Senior Rates mess and then piped their VIP to dinner with the dinner call.
Thank you all for the time and effort you have put in to making this another successful evening. PO Hedges.

Great Week

Great Week

Being a Sea Cadet doesn't get any better than around this time of year. After concentrating on Boating over the summer the unit moves into a shore based training establishment.
The Marines went off to do their detachment assessment and got a satisfactory rating. They would have got a very good if they had a few more cadets. If you're interested in joining the elite of the Cadet Forces as either Staff or as a Cadet please come along on a Friday To find out more.
2 Cadets went off to London this week to take part in the Trafalgar Day celebrations as part of the massed band of the sea cadets. Well Done Ellis and Joe
Several staff and cadets got a level 1 powerboat qualifications at Stewartby.
And finally the unit celebrated Trafalgar Night in style with other members of the District and with a special guest of honour who led us through 4 courses celebrated and more importantly reflected on those events in 1805 and there meaning today locally. I mention this because under the expert tutorship of Gary Hobbs 6 cadets produced high end restaurant quality food for us to consume. I would like thank the Stewards as well who served us as well. The cadets will receive their catering qualifications
Well Done and thanks.
