High and Low Tides

High and Low Tides

The low point, even though the mill is on a top of a hill, we got flooded when everybody else did and to a depth of 8 inches on the ground floor, no apparent lasting damage, just damp wood and concrete, when it drys we will see what happens. Thanks to Lolly and Nik who spent all day Mopping and Cleaning
No words can describe the team effort to get the Mill ready for its RNP. Many thanks to all those that took Friday off to help out.
The hight points:
My thanks to the Lord Lieutenant and our local Mayors Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Leighton Buzzard) for attending the RNP.
And of course the Stars of the show; the cadets who gave via their evolution, a real insight of the depth of the training and fun things we do. From field craft to comms to 1st aid, sailing and boating as well as music and the Horn pipe. The parade was flawless and the uniform exemplary, I am really proud of you all.
Thanks to all the staff that helped get the show on the road.
Yesterday saw us win the powerboat handling trophy and the open boys rowing. And well done to the other teams for a great completion and showing great potential for future years , please keep up the great work.
Thanks to Graham and Merv for the work in the Car Park and on the Mill.
We can relax for a few weeks now and get down to boating.
Best wishes and Thanks
Ade, a grateful and rightly proud CO.
