Six cadets from the Unit competed in the District Adventure Training Competition. This involved orienteering a route with various challenges along the way. The cadets performed well, coming third.
A total of 23 cadets from the Unit attended the Northern District Athletics Competition. The Unit did very well, with Junior Boys coming first and both Junior Girls and Under-15 Girls coming second.
Four of our cadets took part, with London Area Sea Cadets, in the Three Peak Challenge. This involved climbing the highest peak in England (Scafell Pike, 978m), the highest peak in Wales (Snowdon, 1085m) and Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1344m)- all in a 24 hour period!

The staff and cadets were aboard HMS Bellfast for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant. The staff and cadets performed a "cheer ship" salute as the Royal Barge passed Belfast.

The Unit attended the Northern District Camp in the New Forest. Of the cadets attending six Junior Cadets (aged 10-12) gained their JSC Green, Outdoor and Recreational badges and three Cadets gained their Basic Campcraft qualification.
On the Sunday a number of cadets from the Unit attended the annual memorial service, for those lost in HMS Hood, at Boldre Church. The battlecruiser HMS Hood was sunk on the 24th May 1941 in the North Atlantic, with the loss of over 1400 men, by the German battleship Bismarck.
