Great Weekend

Great Weekend

What a great weekend

Members of Barnsley Sea Cadets have had a very busy and successful weekend.

On Saturday morning cadets and volunteers attended a conservation day at Worsbrough Mill, where they cut back overgrown bushes and helped collect litter from around the site.

The Band meanwhile were busy with last minute practice for the Eastern Area Band Competition.

Sunday saw the band heading off to Rockingham Castle to take part in their first ever Band Competition. Having been the first to perform they then faced a long wait for the results.

Meanwhile in Doncaster other members of the unit were taking part in the South Yorkshire District Combined Regatta.

I am delighted to say the Band won the Novice Class of the Eastern Area Band Competition and the Powerboat Handling Team also took first place.

I would also like to wish Cdt Cpl Joe good luck in the Junior Young Leaders Field Gun Competition this week, and the Band Good Luck in next Sunday's BYBA Competition.
