FLY NAVY!

FLY NAVY!

Our cadets recently set off on an adventure to explore the Fleet Air Arm Museum with three of our volunteers.

A fantastic time was had by all as they explored the history of naval aviation, dicided which of the different aircraft and aircraft carriers were their favourites, counted just how many ships bells were hidden throughout the museum (we won’t be spoiling the answer for anyone who fancies a trip to the museum to find out for themselves) and struggled to comprehend just how fast Concorde truly was.

Thank you to everyone involved with making this amazing opportunity possible and here’s to the next adventure!

PO Cadet Kori was quoted in the December edition of Navy News. He was heavily involved, with many of our cadets and volunteers, in the Trafalgar Day Parade in London. Well done Kori for being an excellent ambassador for the Unit.

OUR CIVIC PATRON PAYS US A VISIT

OUR CIVIC PATRON PAYS US A VISIT

Councillor Jo Clements, The Mayor of Poole, recently visited us at TS Drax to see at first hand the wide variety of onshore training activities undertaken by our cadets on a typical evening.

The Mayor saw knot tying, engineering, drill, meteorology and first aid.

The she was able to successfully practice the Heimlich first aid technique which is performed on a person who is choking.

The Mayor showed great interest in our ongoing proposals to modernise our headquarter facilities, parts of which are eighty-four years old. As part of the discussion our Chair, Lee Hardy, showed her our detailed architect’s model.

Afterwards the Mayor positively reflected:

"I had a very interesting and fun evening at Poole Sea Cadets Parade Evening.

I took part in some of their activities and listened in on the training.

As Patron of Poole Sea Cadets, I am immensely proud and honoured to have been involved in their activities and look forward to visiting again.

The leaders and volunteers at Poole Sea Cadets offer a valuable service to Poole’s community in supporting our young sea cadets and teaching them lifelong skills that they can use in future life experience.

Thank you to all involved in making this possible for the young people of Poole."
