Make sure you come along to pick up some real bargains or pre loved items that deserve a new home. It's at the Methodist Church in Starbeck. Great North Swim

Great North Swim

Harrogate Sea Cadets is part of a parent charity (The Marine Society and Sea Cadets) and we always love to support them as well. PO (SCC) Andy Langford took part in The Great North Swim on Lake Windermere in May this year and raised nearly £ 600 for the Sea Cadets. It was his first (and possibly last) open water swim. Many thanks to the supporters who went along to cheer him on.

24 Hour Sail

24 Hour Sail

At Harrogate Sea Cadets we always try to keep moving forward and the cadets were part of that. We recently held a 24 hour sail-a-thon where over £ 1000 was raised by the cadets and their supporters to help fund a brand new RS Zest sailing boat. The Zest is a single handed craft which will give the cadets more individual responsibility and fun. Many thanks to all who donated but mainly to the cadets who braved wind rain and tiredness to achieve this amazing challenge.

Boat Naming Ceremony

The Unit recently aquired a new RS Quest - a new boat designed specifically for Sea Cadet training. As a mark of the love and respect we had as a ship's company for one of our number, Laura Izitt, that we lost to Cancer at the age of 19,we named the boat after her. Laura's mum Anne named the boat and sprinkled Harrogate Spa Water over the "Laura Aye".
