skills, fun and competition!

Sea Cadets can get qualified in a whole range of skills from sailing, yachting, diving, and even marine engineering! Our qualifications count too as most are accredited by the leading UK bodies including the RYA, British Canoe Union, British Sub Aqua Club and St Johns’ Ambulance -  so they stay with you for life.

We have training centres across the UK - here's a look at what they do

MOD Caledonia - Rosyth

Focus on boating at  nearby Port Edgar.  Learn to sail, drive powerboats and windsurf, courses from beginner level to advanced. Plus: Shooting, Drill, First Aid, Meteorology and Cook Steward.

Weymouth Cadet Centre - Dorset

A specially built centre close to the harbour in an amazing location for all things sailing and boating!  On water you can learn to sail, drive powerboats and windsurf. Off the water you can study marine engineering to BTEC Level.  Plus there's a 7.6m high, eight route climbing wall and an indoor shooting range.

TS Neptune - Liverpool

A national diving centre offering dive courses accredited by the British Sub Aqua Club and the chance to secure qualifications that can entitle you to dive anywhere in the world.  Courses include: Sports Diving, Ocean Diving, Expeditionary Diving and Snorkeling.

Royal Marines Cadets Training

Courses across the UK including the Royal Marine Commando Training Centre at Lympstone in Devon.  You will learn Fieldcraft, Map Reading and Weapon Handling.

Camps take place throughout the summer.  It's a chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones, have fun and take part in lots more activities. Some are on military bases - so you'll get a sneak peak ‘behind the scenes’.

Test your skills against other cadets and comepete for your unit or area for a national trophy. From the Gibraltar Cup to find the best Royal Marines Cadets Detachment, to traditional National Drill, Piping & Colour Party Competition, our competitons take place all year round - we also have two huge regattas; the Combined Regatta in boat handling, rowing and canoeing, and the National Sailing Regatta in sailing and windsurfing.
