Cadets from Wootton Bassett unit and Lyneham (2491) ATC squadron joined forces to support Ben Greer with the Wootton Bassett leg of his Big Lift challenge.
The cadets walked with Ben and Marco on their route through the town in 30 degree heat, the cadets carrying buckets for cash while the guys carried packs weighing 100kg!
Very proud to have supported Ben and also proud that between us we managed to collect £400 which goes towards the £40,000 total which will benefit Help for Heroes, the RN & RM Charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Army Benevolent Fund.
The unit has been given £2000 by Thames Water to help pay for new waterproof smocks and salopettes for boating. The clothing will prove invaluable for boating training early in the season or for when those "summer days" are less than glorious!
Cadets representing Wootton Bassett unit came top at the Avon District First Aid competition. The cadets, OC Ebony Wallace, Cdt 1st Megan Emms and Cdt 1st Robert Gordon now go forward to face the regional winners for the Air Training Corps and the Army Cadet Force at a tri-services competition in Bristol.
