Welcome to our new website!

Welcome to our new website!

We have launched our new website website today (Wednesday 15 November). We hope you like it!

Through a different kind of adventure, we launch teenagers for life today. So they can cope with the world and really enjoy what it brings. Over the past few years, the problems teenagers face have grown and changed. It’s something, as a charity working with young people, we are well aware of. On our new website, you can read first-hand accounts from cadets and parents about the positive impact we are making, as well as how you can support us as a charity.

This website is designed with you in mind packed full of inspiring stories and useful information to help you do something really powerful and support the incredible work we do. Whether that’s by joining as a cadet to kick-start your confidence, as a volunteer to inspire young people to new heights, or as a parent and potential supporter who can help fund this vital work. We hope it helps you see what a great charity Sea Cadets is for young people today.

Lord Mayor's Parade

Lord Mayor's Parade

Wandsworth Sea Cadets once again joined cadets from across London and took to the capital's streets as part of the Lord Mayor's Parade!

Viewers would have caught a glimpse of us on the BBC's coverage of the event, which took place on Saturday 11 November.

The Lord Mayor's Show is the world's oldest civic parade. This year's event included more than 7,000 participants on 140 floats, travelling through the historical heart of the City of London in honour of Charles Bowman, the 690th Lord Mayor of London.

You can watch the show via: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09ffqph. You can spot us around 1:10:00 in.

A new powerboat for our cadets

A new powerboat for our cadets

We are delighted to have a new rib (rigid-hulled inflatable boat) join our fleet of boats at the Unit! Our cadets had a great time driving the new boat on the Thames around Putney, helping to increase their powerboating skills, confidence on the water and teamworking skills.

Our new vessel joins our exisiting rib, two Champs (power vessels), two RS Quest sailing dinghies, a Trinity 500 rowing boat and all our kayaks and canoes. It will help us to ensure we can deliver our exciting Sunday boating sessions to even more young people!
