CATSEA Weekend 

This weekend found the cadets on the annual CATSEA weekend.  This is a testing weekend for the cadets as its designed to test the skills the cadets learn over there normal training nights and weekend camps. 

The cadets find them selves carrying out partoling skills, living out of a bergin and cooking there own meals.  Fun was had by all. 

The cadets preformed very well and completed all the tasks to the best of there ability.  Credit must go to Cadet Lance Corporal Connor Atkinson and Cadet Ethan Robinson for keeping the cadets motivated through the weekend

Royal Marine Cadets  training day

The Royal Marine Cadets and staff were joined by the Royal Marine Cadets from Market Harborough Sea Cadets for a day of training in preperation for the upcoming catsea weekend. 

The cadets practiced skills such as judging distance, model building, patroling skills and issuing orders.  The cadets enjoyed the days training and felt they learned new skills they will be able to put into practice over the weekend camp.

HMS Collingwood Open day

The cadets and staff took a day trip to HMS Collingwood to find out a bit more about the Royal Navy and have some more fun.

The cadets and staff enjoyed the day and a special thanks goes to PO Cassidy the units training officer who organised it all.

TS Queen Elizabeth - Boating 

Tonights training saw the cadets and staff of TS Queen Elizabeth venture out from the confines of our little building in wigston accademy to TS Tiger in leicester to conduct some boating. 

The cadets found them selves rowing and kayaking under the watchfull eye of PO Clayton and PO Davies from Leicester unit who ensured all cadets learned some new skills on the water.

Even PO White found her self in an open topped canadian canoe!

Royal Marine Cadets - Easter Camp

Over the Easter Weekend staff and cadets attended X-Ray Companies annual Easter camp at Stanta Training area in Thetford.  

The weekend saw cadets learning new skills such as living in the field, camouflage and concealment and leadership skills.  The cadets had so much fun on camp the 4 sea cadets that attended have decided that they wish to transfer to the Royal Marine Cadet Detachment.  

A special congratulations goes to Royal Marine Cadet L Conway who was awarded best cadet in her section by the Company Commander.
