SEA CADETS ANNOUNCED AS TYNEMOUTH FOOD FESTIVAL...

On 14 September 2015, we hosted some very special visitors from Tynemouth Food Festival who awarded £2,000 to Northumberland District Sea Cadets in recognition of our contribution to the success of the 2015 Tynemouth Food Festival. Even more fantastic news is the organisers have nominated Northumberland District Sea Cadets as their Charity of the Year for the 2016 event. You can find out more about the food festival here http://www.tynemouthfoodfestival.co.uk/ and we look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to everyone who took part and to Tynemouth Food Festival for giving us yet another fantastic opportunity to take part in such a successful community event.

GREAT NORTH RUN AND GREAT CITY GAMES 2015

On 12th and 13th September 2015, our cadets were involved in supporting the Great City Games that preface the Great North Run. Here they are pictured with Johnnie Peacock, 100m paralympian gold medallist from London 2012 Olympic Games. Wouldn't fancy his chances in the standeasy queue though! We then helped the Great North Run organisers transport the runner's belongings on the baggage buses. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and got involved behind the scenes of the worlds largest half marathon which takes place right on our doorstep!

NEWCASTLE EAST SEA CADETS PURCHASE FIRST MINI BUS

NEWCASTLE EAST SEA CADETS PURCHASE FIRST MINI BUS

It's official, we are now the proud owners of a new minibus! It's a fantastic asset to have and will help many of our cadets gain qualifications and enable us to create more adventurous activities for our cadets to enjoy. Mini buses aren't cheap, so we have spent many months fundraising and our thanks must go to the local businesses and organisations which have supported us. We are very grateful and excited at the possibilities!

Look out for us as we travel around the region....and beyond!
