Exercise Long Night!

Exercise Long Night!

Milford Haven Royal Marines Cadets took to an Army Training Camp last week as they participate in Exercise Long Night with over 200 Royal Marines Cadets from Alpha Company (Birmingham down to Bristol and across to Cornwall and Milford Haven).

The weekend comprised of training in camouflage and concealment training, map reading, living in the field, weapon handling tests and protection of area’s.

Petty Officer (SCC) Mark Flude, the Detachment Commander of the Milford Haven Royal Marines Cadets comments “This was a good opportunity for our current cadets to see what we Royal Marines Cadets do and put a real life experience to it.  It was also an excellent opportunity to mix with other detachments as we are the newest in the Company”.

They participated in a Titanic themed weekend, in recognition of her 100 years since sinking.  Activities included playing the titanic songs, making a titanic, communications (making a morse code sender), navigation, a Titanic Evening Dinner, Sea Survival and the various roles onboard her!

We all came back very tired but looking forward to the next Area Junior Boating Weekend!
