Its a Rowathon.....

Its a Rowathon.....

Jarrow Sea Cadets took part in the national rowathon on Sunday 21st April, rowing from Derwenthaugh Boat Station to Newburn and back.  The rowathon is part of a national campaign to raise money to replace the TS Royalist Tallship.  Many Sea Cadets get to go offshore on one of the corps fleet with a trip on TS Royalist a firm favourite.

The offshore adventures are open to every sea cadet and with the new ship costing over £5m, we are all trying to help raise the necessary funds.

The Snow doesn't stop Sea Cadets

The Snow doesn't stop Sea Cadets

On a very snowy Friday evening, Jarrow Sea Cadets, planned and executed their very own Antarctic expedition.  So in the snow covered car park, the staff and cadets set about building our own snow submarine to get us to Antarctica as well as our emergency shelter on the land mass when we got there.

A great evening of fun was had by everyone, with Jarrow's very own Ice Hotel taking shape.....  Single room and very exclusive.

If you want to join Jarrow Sea Cadets why not pop along on any Tuesday or Friday evening between 7pm and 9pm, and see what we do.
