Armed Forces Week 2022

Armed Forces Week 2022

We have had a very busy weekend supporting the Armed Forces Week at Bradford City Park on Saturday 25th June and Bradford Bulls on Sunday 26th June 2022.

On Saturday we attended Armed Forces day service in City Park and spoke with the dignitaries and general public. We had lovely feedback from all involved.

On Sunday We attended the Bradford Bulls Armed forces day game. Some of our cadets provided a guard of honour for the players at the begining of the match and then at half time all the cadets did a lap of honour around the pitch. It was a great did for all and once again great feedback again.

Our Unit presentation Evening

Our Unit presentation Evening

Last nights presentation Evening was a resounding success.

You all gave a remarkable account of yourselves and this is reiterated by the fantastic feedback we have recived from the VIP's. I was very proud of each and every one of you and you have my heartfelt thanks.

I meant it when I said the process for deciding winners of awards was extremely difficult and those of you who did not win an award should be equally proud of yourselves.

The process now begins again for the forthcoming year, so keep doing what you are doing and it could be you coming to the front next year.

I also want to thank the parents for supporting their young people in attending the Unit and training opportunities the cadets provide, without your support we couldn't do what we do.

Feedback from the Freemasons:

We were all very impressed with everything that you are doing and it was mentioned how many similarities there are between yourselves and us. We do not march but we do have steps and floor work, we also have salutes and ritual (basically words that have to be memorised and repeated word for word) We are known around Yorkshire as being the best but your cadets put us to shame. Their floor work and words were excellent. I was very impressed by your corporal who showed confidence and skill far in excess of her years. it was a very enjoyable evening and I hope there will be other opportunities to visit in the future.

Feedback from the High Sheriff:

Good morning,

I am not sure to whom I should address this message of appreciation for inviting me to your wonderful Presentation Evening last night, as there were so many of you to thank!

It was a wonderful evening, of achievements for all of the young people, not only for those winning the awards but for all of the young and less young who work so hard to provide such a wide array of training for skills to equip the Sea and Royal Marine cadets for the rigours of life ahead.

It was a real privilege to be a part of the evening and watch the pride of those young people and their families. Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved for making it such an enjoyable evening and for making me so welcome.

Best wishes

Sue
