Put a gift in your will. All young people need someone who cares behind them, to help them make a go of the world. But some teenagers lack this. With a gift in your will, you can step in behind a young person who needs it.
Not at all. £310 would be enough to send one young person on a voyage on our tall ship which will change their life as they learn to crew with a team, and sit on deck watching dolphins passing. £3,100 could cover a voyage for 10 teenagers, who may have never seen the sea before.
Every legacy makes a difference.
"It's a pleasure and privilege to know I can carry on supporting them even after I'm not around to help in person."
Lt Cdr Twomey, legacy pledger
Sometimes people like to put a gift in their will in memory of someone to whom cadets, or the Royal Navy or the sea, was really important.
Or to hold a collection at their funeral for Sea Cadets or give a donation in memory on a special anniversary.
If you would like to set up a tribute page to a loved one, it is very easy and you can do it here.
Sea Cadets has a legacy information pack. Just email Vanessa at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone her on 020 7654 7000 and she’ll pop one in the post for you.
Your will is your only way to be certain that what you want to happen to your estate when you’re gone does in fact happen, so it’s sensible to do it properly and use a solicitor. It doesn’t have to cost much. You may have a family solicitor already, or ask a friend for a recommendation, or you can find a local solicitor here.
To make sure the gift in your will goes to the right place, please include our full name and charity number in your will:
Sea Cadets Ashington
