North, East or West of A303

Visitors coming to RNAS Yeovilton from the North, East or West of the Air Base should leave the A303 by the main Yeovil/Ilchester exit (A37 South).

At the next roundabout which is about 1/4 mile take the 1st exit and travel through Ilchester until reaching the roundabout junction of the B3151, taking the 2nd exit at the roundabout.


Arrival at RNAS Yeovilton

Make your way along the B3151 after about ¾ mile you enter a 40 mph zone, the West Gate entrance is sited on the right hand side of the road. If this is closed the Pyle Lane entrance is next on the right with the Sea Harrier and Lynx by it.

You will be required to go to the security post and obtain a personal and vehicle pass.

As this is a military base please ensure you have some form of proof of identity with you.
The guards will contact the Sea Cadet Office to inform of your arrival so you can be escorted through the base.


Sutton Bingham Sailing Club

Travelling from the North/West of Yeovil should take the A37 South as if heading for Dorchester. The roundabout at the north of the attached map is at a pub called the Quicksilver Mail, the junction for Sutton Bingham is 1.4 miles south on the right, it is on an awkward left hand bend.

Travelling from the south on the A37 as you approach Yeovil from the Dorset area you should cross over a rail bridge on a tight left hand bend the turning for Sutton Bingham is about 200 yards on the left.

The reservoir is 1.2 miles along this road, you will travel down a short steep incline and go under a rail bridge, the Sailing Club turning is immediately on the left after the bridge.
