Course 1

RYA First Aid Course – Held at Worthing Unit - Course fee - £30 for full course, current First Aid Manual and Certificate.

 

Course 2

Powerboat Level 2 Planing – Held at SCTC Weymouth – Courses details can be found in RYA Publications G20 and G48. Course fee £25.

 

DI & SI CPD – Dinghy Instructor & Senior Instructor Continual Professional Development – Held at SCTC Weymouth – open to staff holding a minimum of RYA Dinghy Instructor; aimed at DIs & SIs  and provides a focus on Continual Professional Development, assisting instructors to maintain and improve their skills. The weekend will provide an opportunity to get afloat and practise skills in a variety of boats (Symmetric and Asymmetric) as well as introduce instructors to new techniques and ideas. Course fee £25.

 

Course 3

Safety Boat (Part 1) – a two weekend course – held at SCTC Weymouth; candidates must also attend Course 4 – Safety Boat (Part 2). Candidates must have a Powerboat Level 2 Planing Certificate before attending the course. Course details can be found in RYA Publications G20 and G16. RYA publication G16 is included in the course fee of £50 (£25 per weekend).

 

DI & SI CPD – Dinghy Instructor & Senior Instructor Continual Professional Development (see description above). Course Fee £25.

 

Course 4

Safety Boat (Part 2) – the second weekend of a two weekend course; candidates must have already attended Course 3 – Safety Boat (Part 1). See description above.

 

Rowing CPD – Rowing Instructor & Rowing Coach Continual Professional Development – Held at SCTC Weymouth – open to staff holding a minimum of SCC Rowing Instructor; aimed at RIs & RCs  and provides a focus on Continual Professional Development, assisting instructors to maintain and improve their skills. The weekend will provide an opportunity to get afloat and practise skills in both the Trinity 500 and Yole as well as introduce instructors to new techniques and ideas. Course fee £25.

 

Course 5

Staff Introduction to Boatwork – Held at SCTC Weymouth – open primarily to PPO’s, APO’s & PCI’s but also to any staff who feel they have a requirement; this weekend is intended as an introduction to all aspects of boatwork i.e. Rowing, Power boating and Sailing plus it provides an opportunity to improve on current skills. Course fee £25.

 

Introduction to Sliding Seat Rowing – Held at SCTC Weymouth – open to staff holding a minimum of Rowing Instructor – primarily aimed at RIs & RCs who would like to have a go at Rowing in sliding seat boats. The course will also provide information on how to progress towards the UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Rowing

 

Courses 6 & 15

SCC Rowing Instructor Training – a one weekend course. Details and pre-requirements can be found in the SCC Publication – National Rowing Scheme, Coaching Logbook, Second Edition. 2008. Course fee £25.

 

SCC Rowing Coach Course – SCC Rowing Coaches course, candidates must attend both courses. Details and pre-requirements can be found in the SCC Publication – National Rowing Scheme, Coaching Logbook, Second Edition. Course fee £40.

 

Course 7

Seamanship Sailing Module – course details can be found in RYA Publications G4, G11 and G12. Course fee £20.

 

Course 8

RYA Powerboat Level 2 (Planing) – courses details can be found in RYA Publications G20 and G48. Course fee £20.

 

 

RYA Assistant Dinghy Instructor – a two weekend course; candidates must also attend Course 10. Pre-requirements for this course are that the candidates hold Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 3 or National Sailing Scheme Level 2 plus 1 of the 5 sailing modules. Prospective candidates should contact SABS for more details, some details can be found in RYA Publication G14 which is included in the course fee of £40.

 

Course 9

5 day course for beginners in Rowing, Power and Sailing plus Power Level 2 Planing, Power Intermediate, Seamanship and Spinnakers, see RYA publications G3, G4, G11, G12, G13, G20 and G48 for further details. Course fee £60.

 

Course 10

Sailing with Spinnakers Module – course details can be found in RYA Publications G4, G11 and G12. Course fee £20.

 

RYA Assistant Dinghy Instructor – the second weekend of a two weekend course; candidates must have already attended Course 8. See description above.
