Adult Volunteers

Adult Volunteers

The Worthing Sea and Royal Marine Cadet Unit is always looking for adult volunteers to assist with the increasing number of Cadets at the Unit.

If you have spare time and would be interested in volunteering to assist with the Unit, there are three ways in which as an adult, you could help.

1. As a Trustee and part of the Unit Management Team (UMT)

The Sea Cadets is a Registered Charity, and each of the Units is themselves a Registered Charity.

As a charity, there is a requirement for a Board of Trustees to oversea the running of the charity – in this case the Unit at TS Vanguard – and provide help and support where needed.

2. As a member of the Parent and Supporters Association (P&SA)

If you would like to assist on a less formal level, providing assistance to the Unit and the UMT in any of a variety of ways: fundraising, driving a mini-bus or maintenance to name just a few ways, you can do so as a member of the P&SA.

You could be either a parent or simply someone wishing to support the running of the Unit.

3. As an Instructor.

Whether you have direct nautical or military experience or not, instructors are the mainstay of any Cadet Unit. Passing on your experience to youngsters between 9 and 18 can be rewarding, and is always well received.

Instructors do not have to be uniformed personnel, and can equally well be “civilians”.

You do not need to be a teacher, nor have previous military experience; as part of the Sea Cadet experience covers community and educational activities as well as those more aligned to the Military – Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would simply like more information or to talk to a member of staff, please contact: co@worthingsc-rmcd.org

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank You
