"Sea Cadets have become my family since my mother passed away -  I know that they will support me. They have helped me to achieve so much" PO Simeon from Ross & Monmouth

We're making a positive difference to the lives of young people – inspiring new confidence in themselves and their abilities as they learn to work together as a team and take on challenging new activities based on a nautical theme.

As Sea Cadets young people flourish, learn key life skills and achieve qualifications in a range of areas, all of which boosts their confidence as they prepare for the rest of their lives.

We offer them an alternative way of spending their free time that broadens their life experiences. They can row the circumference of the UK, sail on a tall ship, and crew a yacht around Scottish islands most of which is heavily subsidised. It's a chance to have fun, learn something new, gain qualifications and get a brilliant head start in life.

We're tackling the serious issue of young NEETs, (those not in education, employment or training) by helping young people into further education and onto career pathways in a range of areas including but not exclusively the Royal Navy, and the wider maritime sector, through the incredible experiences and guidance they gain with us.

Based in towns and cities across the UK, our cadets make an incredible contribution to the lives of local communities, helping at events, working with different generations and encouraging a sense of civic pride in all that they do.

Supporting Sea Cadets can strengthen local communities and bring neighbours together. Our incredible volunteer support offers valuable role models and mentors for young people, and our units provide a sense of family and belonging. We are often a lifeline to young people who are bullied at school, offering stability and security to those in foster care and we are a pathway to meaningful careers and further education for those that struggle at school.
