November was a busy month
In January the Senior Girls and the U12’s won the District and Area Five-a-side Football with the Senior Girls going onto the National Event where they came a creditable Second (U12’s do not have a National event in football)
In May came the Athletics which is only a District Event. Wandsworth were awarded 1st place overall with the Girls coming 1st and the boys 2nd.
In June we had the Rowing Regatta held at Royal Victoria Docks, London. Senior and Juniors Boys won District with both crews going onto Area where the Seniors Boys won and the Juniors came 2nd. Senior Boys now practicing for the National Event in September.
In September the Open Boys Crew went to Nationals at Royal Victoria Docks and came an incredible second with some very close races. BZ
November was a busy month with the !st Lieutenant and CPO Holland and six cadets taking part in the Lord Mayor's Parade. Sadly the weather wasn't very good but the cadets did us proud. The Commanding Officer did a fine job and taking and collecting everyone which was especially helpful with the bad weather.
The following day was Remembrance Sunday and with the 1st Lieutenant's good work with the uniforms, they were dry from the Lord Mayor's Parade and Wandsworth Unit marched with the Royal Legion and Royal Marines etc down Putney High Street to the Remembrance service in St. Mary's Church. Many people line the streets and we had a good turn out.
The following Saturday we had our Jumble Sale with lots of help from Committe, Parents, Staff and Cadets and made a marvellous £750.
On the Sunday we had the Cross Country and Tug of War Competition at Edgware Unit. Good turn out from the cadets and we managed Two Individual Medals for Forence Fowkes 1st and Josh Harvey 2nd. Girls came 2nd out of seven units, boys came 3rd out of ten units and the Under 12's came 2nd out of nine units. A very long day and long weekend but the cadets did themselves and the Unit Proud.
