The 20th February saw a both happy and sad event when Lt D Holland stood down a Commanding Officer. He has been replaced by Lt J Roots. All is not lost though as Lt Holland will continue with the unit as Executive Officer. So in fact Lt Holland and Lt Roots have swapped jobs. The event to celebrate LT Holland's almost 25 years in command was well attended with many former Cadets attending to wish him well.


25 Area Five a Side Football. We took the Senior Girls team and members from Kingston Unit to make up the team and our Junior Boys. They were a credit to the Unit with the Girls coming Second and the Boys Third.

18  District Five a Side Football. Playing by numbers with 6 Staff in attendance and four team, Senior Girls, Junior Girls, Junior Boys, and U12. A very cold day but Wandsworth did well with Senior Girls and Junior Boys winning their set. They will go on to Area next week.

16   Winter BBQ Carpet Guard in Putney. 4 cadets and 2 staff braved a very cold evening to attend.



8 Remembrance Day Parade with our Community in Putney. Marching behind the British Legion and the Royal Marines with Army, Air Force Police Cadets Scouts Girl Guides Scouts and Beavers down Putney High Street to St Mary's Church for the Commemoration.

7 Lord Mayor's Show and Flotilla. Our cadets, staff and boats accompanied the Lord Mayor on the River before his journey through London . 


21   Had a wonderful party for our sponsors the Vintners and Named the Silver Swan with bottle of bubbly. Sponsors, Committee,             Parents,Friends and the Ship's Company enjoyed the day immensely.

20    Cadets with a member of staff attended a WW1 Commemoration in Hammersmith.

12    Unit Review by the Area Officer. The Unit gained a Pennant through the cadets hard work. BZ



National Flag Week - and Flag Day - were great successes this year.
9th - 14th June, saw a tremendous turn-out and commitment from all involved. £2,300 was raised in total. BZ.

The Girls Open Rowing Regatta took place, at Sunbury District, with our girls winning.

There was also an Area Event at the Royal Docks, where our girls came 2nd.


The Unit took delivery of a brand new Trinity 500 boat, as kindly donated by Vintners Delivery Company. There was a ceremony, with the boat being named The Silver Swan.

The Athletics event saw a great turn out, with five Cadets and four instructors.


The Devizes - Westminster Canoe Race took place. Wandsworth Unit has offered Safety Boat Cover for this event for over 40 years.


Congratulations to Blu Johnson, Leah Edwards, Josh Harvey, Rhys Baker who are now Leading Cadets.

Leah Edwards and Nancy Cronin-Coltsmann also passed 1st Class 1st Aid. BZ.


The National Football event took place from February 22nd - 23rd. The Senior Girls came 2nd.

January 2014

There were two District Football Area events, in which the Senior Girls won on both occasions (18th and 26th January).

Ravi Mehotra held a Winter barbecue, with eight Cadets and two instructors attending.

November 2013

The Lord Mayor's Parade was televised - with six of our Cadets and two of our instructors in attendance.
