Tesco Bag Pack - "Every Little Helps"

Cadets, Staff, Committee, Parents & Supporters attended & assisted with a Bag Pack at the new Tesco store in Walsall Town Centre on Saturday 17th September.

A very worth while event which resulted in the team raising over £800 for the Unit.

Events similar to this are crucial, as the money raised helps keep the Unit running smoothly by going towards the general day to day costs.

After an in depth set of Orders which was presented by Cpl L Holt, the section went onto display a full Section Attack showing their Battle Drills along with good teamwork and communication.

All proved worthy as the Detachment came away with a "Very Good" Grading - 3 higher than last year and 1 away from the best.

Bravo Zulu to all involved.

Walsall Royal Marines Cadets are "Best in Britain"

On the 7th May 2011, Walsall Royal Marines Cadets took part in the Annual National Drill Competition, HMS Raleigh in Plymouth, against over 300 cadets from around Britain.

A close competition ensued as the cadets representing 1 Troop - Alpha Company (South West Area) took on the might of cadets from X-Ray (Eastern Area), Bravo (North West Area) and Zulu (Southern Area) Companies under the watchful eye of Detachment Commander Lt (SCC) Voirrey Wagstaff RMR.

The hard work and dedication from the cadets over the last few months proved worthy as they walked away with trophies for Best Guard Commander - LCpl S Moriarty, Best Arena Display and Overall winners, making them 2011 National Drill Champions.

This is an excellent achievement for all cadets and staff involved.  They will now be looking forward to the Annual Trafalgar day parade, London in October where they will be representing Royal Marines Cadets Nationally.
