RNP Success
Last week saw a hive of activity as the unit prepared for our Royal Navy Parade on Thursday 16 March. The RNP is an inspection for sea (and marine) Cadet units, normally carried out by a Royal Navy officer.
We still await our score which will see the unit gain a Pennant or a Burgee. The higher scores attain a burgee, so fingers crossed.
The cadets had to demonstrate some of the activities in which they participate, and they did a fantastic job in doing so. They had to run the entire evening from Colours, all the way through the evolutions, and then the Juniors completed with evening colours. The staff are really very proud of the Cadets for stepping up to the mark so well, especially with an audience that included the Mayor of Torbay - Gordon Oliver, Councillor Roger Stringer and Mrs Shelagh Stringer, Unit President Mr Robert Horne, Major Ron Goodwin OBE and Mr Kevin Jeffries from Paignton Branch Royal British Legion, the District Officer Lt Cdr Hall and Deputy District Officer Lt Cdr Brown and the Deputy Area Officer - Commander Smith.
We would like to say "Bravo Zulu" to the Cadets and staff!
Also a big thank you to the VIP's and parents for attending and joining in for the evening.
