Visit from CSC

Sefton Unit had a very special visitor tonight,Captain Jonathan Holloway RN, Captain of the Sea cadets Corps.

He was visiting to present our pennant which was awarded for our recent RNP inspection along with the Captains Commendation.

Well done to all the staff, committee members and most especially our cadets for all their hard work over the last few months and for their excellent displays tonight.

Well done to you all

Sefton Unit bid for a new

Sefton Unit bid for a new "home" Stumbles

Hi Everyone,
I've received a phone call from (and a copy of an email sent) to Cllr Peter Dowd today and I’m afraid its not good news, please see below:

Dear Mrs Prescott (PA to P Dowd)

Thank you for your inquiry. We currently intend to retain the Crosby Coastguard station following the closure of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) function as we will still require the building as a Marine Office (a support office for Marine Surveyors undertaking shipping inspections and the like) and a base for the Crosby Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT), we also intend to establish a Coastguard Area Base (regional management structure for the volunteer Coastguard) within the building.

Many Thanks

Steve Pickering
FCG Estates Capability Executive
Maritime and Coastguard Agency

We do not agree with the closure of Crosby Coast Guard Station but we also know no-body wants it to end up as a fast food outlet so if it must close then what better than it becoming a new home for TS Starling, we would like to have a permanent home for our young people and you can find more information about our bid and also show your support

remember to like and share so we can spread the word and increase our support
