Fundraising

As an independent charity, but part of the national Sea Cadets, your support is vital to us.

We rely on the goodwill of our local community and businesses for financial support.

Sea Cadets welcome donations, large or small which can help provide opportunities for our cadets. Your donation can go straight to our Unit or via our branch teams which support lots of Units in a particular region or area. Or you can become a member of the national charity from just £25 a year.

A donation can:

  • - £20 will pay for a life jacket
  • - £50 can help pay for the heating of a unit
  • - £100 will pay for a new set of oars for a pulling boat
  • - £250 will send a Sea Cadet on a week's trip on flagship TS Royalist
  • - £1000 will help make vital health and safety upgrades for a Unit
  • - £2500 will buy a new boat for a unit - which will have a useful life of at least 25 years, serving hundreds and hundreds of cadets.

The Sea Cadets is a Charity and as such does not receive any Funding.
For 1 week during the Summer Months each year the Staff and Cadets have a flag week. This is where they go collecting throughout the Borough asking for Donations to keep the Unit running. This is fully authorised by the Local Authorities who issue a Street Collecting permit.

In addition to this, we hold functions throughout the year where the proceeds go to the unit. These in the past have included a beach party (in November), a Summer Ball, 60s nights and every year we hold a New Years Disco. We are active within our local community and have had fundraising stalls at Reigate Priory Park and the Redhill Seatm Show.

We are currently trying to raise money through grants for the rebuilding of a new boat shed. As we have had new boats we need to provide a sufficient location to keep the boats during the winter.

Simply visit www.edupayment.co.uk search for Sea Cadets Reigate and then once you have selected us as your charity search for your retailer. The amount the unit receives is calculated usually based on a percentage. This does not cost anything to you and provides money to the unit. Alternatively once you have selected Sea Cadets Reigate, you can download the toolbar and if you visit a website which is eligeable to donate money to us it will tell you on the toolbar.
